How it works

From plate to diary in three taps

Snap or describe

Take a photo, pick one from your library, or just type it: “manti, 5 pieces”. No forms to fill first.

Read the estimate

Every dish with grams, calories and macros, plus the likely range and the one thing that moves it most.

Log it and move on

Pick the portion, add it to today, and watch the ring fill up. Your week shows up as a chart.

Why a range

Nobody can weigh the oil in a photo. We just admit it.

Most photo trackers hand you one confident number. It looks precise. It isn't. Two plates of plov that look the same can be 200 kcal apart, because one cook used twice the oil.

Kalorea shows the most likely number, the range it probably falls in, and a short note on what drives the gap. Clear shot, simple food: a tight range. Sauces, oil, hidden fillings: a wider one. You always know how much to trust it.

Grilled chicken breast, 150 g225-275 kcal
Pasta bolognese, 350 g448-672 kcal
Plov, 350 g480-720 kcal
Restaurant curry, 400 g416-864 kcal

The less sure the estimate, the wider the range: ±10% Confident, ±20% Fairly sure, ±35% Rough guess.

What you get

Everything you need to eat on purpose. Nothing you don't.

Photo, library or words

Snap it, pick it, or describe it. Kalorea splits the plate into dishes with grams for each.

An honest range

The likely number plus how far it can drift, with a confidence level you can see.

Protein, fat and carbs

Grams for every dish and for the whole day, right next to your calories.

Steps to walk it off

Every meal comes with the steps it takes to burn, so the number means something.

A plan that is yours

Pick a goal, answer five quick questions, and get daily calories, macros and a steady weekly pace.

Local food, not just burgers

Plov, manti, borscht, baursaks. It knows them.

Most calorie apps were trained on American plates. Kalorea was built around the food people actually cook at home across Central Asia and Eastern Europe, and it handles a burger just fine too.

Questions people ask

How accurate is a calorie estimate from a photo?

It's an AI estimate, not a kitchen scale. Oil, sauces and portion size cause the biggest misses, so Kalorea shows a range and a confidence level, and lets you adjust the portion before you log. If you need exact numbers, weigh your food.

What does Kalorea count?

Calories, protein, fat and carbs for each dish and for the whole meal, plus the number of steps it takes to walk it off.

Can I log food without a photo?

Yes. Type what you ate, like “borscht with sour cream and bread”, and Kalorea estimates it the same way.

Who analyzes my photos?

Claude, an AI model by Anthropic. It receives only the photo or your description, never your name or profile. Details are in our privacy policy.

Do I need an account?

No. The app works from the first launch. Sign in with Apple is optional and keeps your diary when you switch iPhones.

Is it free?

The iPhone app includes one free photo estimate a day. Kalorea Pro gives you up to 40 a day for $39.99 a year with a 3-day free trial, or $9.99 a month. The Telegram bot is free to use.

Is this medical advice?

No. Estimates are approximate and don't replace a doctor or dietitian. If you're pregnant, managing a condition or dealing with disordered eating, talk to a professional first.
