Everything Kalorea does, and nothing it pretends to

This page lists what the app and the Telegram bot actually do today. If it's not here, Kalorea doesn't do it yet.

Calories from a photo

Take a picture or pick one from your library. Kalorea finds each dish on the plate, estimates its weight in grams, and adds up calories, protein, fat and carbs. It takes about ten seconds.

  • Several dishes on one plate, each with its own grams
  • Works with a fresh camera shot or a photo from your library
  • Food from home kitchens, cafes and street stalls

Or just describe it

No photo? Type what you ate in plain words. Add a weight or a size if you know it: “oatmeal with banana, big bowl”. Kalorea reads it the same way it reads a photo.

  • Plain language, no database search
  • Works for snacks you already finished
  • Quick examples to get you started

An honest range, not a fake exact number

Every estimate comes with the most likely number, a range, and a confidence level. High confidence means about ±10%, medium about ±20%, low about ±35%. A short note tells you what moves it most, like oil in plov or sour cream in borscht.

  • Most likely calories plus low and high
  • Confidence level on every result
  • A note on what makes the number drift

Adjust the portion before you log

Ate half? Went back for seconds? Pick ½, 1, 1½ or 2 portions and everything recalculates: calories, range, macros and steps.

  • Four portion sizes, one tap
  • Macros and steps update instantly
  • Nothing is logged until you add it

Steps to walk it off

Each meal shows how many steps it would take to burn. Once you answer the questions, the count uses your height and weight. Until then it uses an average adult.

  • Turns calories into something you can picture
  • Shown for every meal and for going over your target
  • Based on brisk walking at 5.6 km/h

Your plan, then today at a glance

On first launch, pick lose, keep or gain, then answer five quick questions: sex, age, height, weight and activity, plus a goal weight. Kalorea builds your plan with the Mifflin-St Jeor formula: daily calories, protein, fat and carbs, and a steady pace in kg a week. After that, today is a ring: eaten, left, or over.

  • Daily calories and macros, set from your answers
  • A safe pace, no crash diets
  • Calories left or over, always visible
610kcal left

Your week as a chart

Seven days of calories as bars, green when you were within target and apricot when you went over. See your daily average and how many days you hit target.

  • Last seven days at a glance
  • Average per logged day
  • Days within target, counted for you

The Telegram bot, sharing one diary

Kalorea started as the Telegram bot @ai_dietolog_foto_bot. Link the app and the bot with a 6-digit code once, and both read and write the same diary.

  • Log from any device with Telegram
  • Linking needs a code the bot sends only to you
  • Meals from the bot are marked in the app

No sign-up, then Sign in with Apple

Kalorea works from the first launch without an account. When you want your diary to follow you to a new iPhone, add Sign in with Apple. We don't ask for your email.

  • Start in seconds
  • Optional Sign in with Apple
  • Delete your account and data in two taps

What Kalorea doesn't do yet

We'd rather tell you now than have you find out later. Kalorea has no barcode scanner, no Apple Health sync, no water tracking, no meal reminders and no Apple Watch app. You can't edit individual dishes inside a result yet; you can change the portion or delete the meal.
